Everton came away from the King Power Stadium with all three points on Saturday afternoon having defeated Leicester City by a 2-1 scoreline. The Toffees had goalscorers Richarlison and Gylfi Sigurdsson to thank for the win which took them to 11th place in the Premier League table.

Richarlison put Marco Silva’s side ahead with a finely taken volley – following a brilliant cross by Bernard – with just seven minutes on the clock. The Brazil international continued to be a thorn in the side of the Foxes’ defence for the rest of the game.

What was particularly impressive about the 21-year-old’s display was how well he adapted to an unfamiliar position. The ex-Watford man, who arrived at Goodison Park this summer for a fee that could potentially rise to around £50 million, was deployed as a centre-forward this weekend. Following the recent struggles of Everton’s main striker, Cenk Tosun, this is a position that Richarlison now has an opportunity to make his own.
