ToggleWHAT HAPPENED?
Ex-Arsenal defender Martin Keown is not sure that Amorim is the right man to lead United in the long term after a poor season in charge of the Premier League giants. He then suggested the Red Devils swoop for Red Bull's Head of Global Soccer, Klopp, instead.

WHAT KEOWN SAID
He said on talkSPORT: âThe number of games that theyâve lost, Iâm still concerned that this isnât the right manager for Manchester United. Itâs going to be a very interesting start to the season, they could do a lot worse than go and get Jurgen Klopp to manage their football club. Iâm not trying to sensationalise but I believe that he might do an incredible job there, they need someone there with more experience than the current manager. Why not? Heâs done it once before, weâre comparing their journey now, heâs done it once before but with a better foundation.â

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Klopp will go down as an all-time Liverpool great after leading them to Champions League and Premier League glory during his nine-year stay at Anfield. And while he has ruled out a return to management anytime soon, the thought of the German taking charge of bitter rivals United seems extremely unlikely.

WHAT NEXT?
For now, it seems United are in no rush to find a new manager, despite Amorim leading the club to 15th in the Premier League and finishing runners-up to Tottenham in the Europa League final this season.
